RULES AND GUIDELINES FOR THE LIVE ON-LINE AUCTION

OF THE SPECIAL LICENSE PLATE – “HISTORIC VIRGINIA RANGE MUSTANGS”

You have a unique opportunity to make an end of year donation to the local Wild Horse non-profit organization of your choice (see the list below) AND do your bidding best to obtain one (or more) of the Nevada DMV special series plate numbers 0001-0099 benefiting the “Historic Virginia Range Mustangs” license plate fund! As you may already know, proceeds from the sale of these plates go to fund special projects to protect, preserve, promote, and rescue our precious Virginia Range Mustangs! The winning bidders of this online auction will have the honor and bragging rights to say “I support our local Mustangs!” by adorning their vehicle with their low numbered “Historic Virginia Range Mustangs” license plate.

All proceeds gained through this fund raising effort will go to benefit the following organizations:

1. Hidden Valley Wild Horse Protection Fund, Reno, NV
2. Least Resistance Training Concepts / Wild Horse Mentors, Stagecoach, NV
3. Virginia Range Wildlife Protection Association, VC Highlands, NV
4. Wild Horse Connection, Reno, NV
5. Wild Horse Preservation League, Dayton, NV

All funds pledged by winning auction participants must be designated and paid to the winning bidder’s organization of choice from the above mentioned list of Nevada 501(c)3 non-profit organizations. Payment can be made using the donation tools already established on the organization’s website or by mailing in a check to its designated mailing address. All funds pledged by winning auction participants will be considered a tax deductible donation and will be separate from any and all Nevada DMV fees you will be required to pay when you claim your special series number at the Nevada DMV office stipulated on your bidding form.

All winning bids must be paid in full immediately following the close of the “Auction”, which is 12:00 pm, Tuesday, December 24 2019 and no later than 8 calendar days after the close of the auction, which will be 12:00 pm, Wednesday, January 1, 2020. If you do not pay your winning bid by January 1, 2020, your bid will be invalidated and the next highest bid will be notified as the winner.

All bidders must complete the Online Auction Form available at www.vrmustangs.org/license-plate-auction/ and submit it for inclusion in the bidding process.

Bidders may use either the online “SUBMIT” button on the form or print it and physically hand their bidding form in to a representative of the OnLine Bidding Committee at 1300 Geiger Grade Road, Reno, Nevada, also known as Foothill Feed and Mercantile, between the business hours of 10:00 am through 6:00 pm, Monday – Friday and Saturday 10:00 am through 5:00 pm. (The store is closed all day Sunday.)

All bids will be registered in the order they are received and as soon as they are received.  Bidding status activity can be viewed online at  http://www.vrmustangs.org/license-plate-auction/ .  Winning bids will be the last and highest bid received and recorded before the close of the “Auction” at 12:00 pm, Tuesday, December 24, 2019.

Donations outside of this online auction can be made by anyone at any time to any or all of the Wild Horse non-profits listed above and we encourage supporters to do so. However, only winning bids will be eligible to obtain one of the special series numbers 0001 through 0099. All special series numbered license plates 0001 – 0099 of the “Historic Virginia Range Mustangs” license plate must be claimed, purchased and processed through the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles before February 28, 2020. The winning license plates will be sent to the DMV office you designated on your bidding form and will be available after January 15, 2020. All standard fees required to obtain a Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles license plate will apply and must be paid by you at the time of purchase at the Nevada DMV office that you designated on your bidding form. These fees are in addition to the donation you paid to the Wild Horse non-profit organization of your choice.  

All “Historic Virginia Range Mustangs” special series plate numbers 0001-0099 unclaimed after February 28, 2020 will be turned back in to the Nevada DMV inventory and no refund will be given for the amount donated through this online auction.
